The Constraints of Poetry as a Means of Communication

Unlike prose, the covert nature of the meaning of poetry, embedded in the kernel of musings, trims down its audience to only a handful, few or even two. In fact the it is not unusual for the poet to be his sole audience…
You asked to what end? A Poet is essentially a bundle of inquisition, of introspection and of thoughts much like matter is a bundle of energy. So, sometimes, a poet’s reflection or aspiration can be so personal that it takes him on a lonely path, ‘the road not taken’. And since man must converse, even in his own universe, self-conference is deemed fit in such a moment… And for how long? Soliloquy does not leave the poet until his own conference has clarified him… My Facebook post from December 3rd 2013
